The HAWKS meet for indoor flying in the BOEING Oxbow Recreational Facility from 10:00am - 4:00pm, third saturday of each month. Keith Varnau, founder of BEAMS, is the prime mover behind the huge "Day in the Hangar" events held in the Boeing 747 & 777 Hangar (95 foot ceiling!). Held once or twice a year depending on aircraft production, it has pulled over 1500 people, including over 300 beginning modelers and 100 experienced modelers. BEAMS also meets at the Boeing Everett Activity Center for indoor flying (an 2nd Sat) and building sessions (on 1st & 3rd Thur). The WMC has both a winter indoor schedule (held in the South Albany High School gym - 36ft? ceiling) and a summer outdoor schedule of flying meets. Andy Tagliafico, long-time WMC member, organizes the famous Kibbe Dome Annual, usually held late July/early August in Moscow Idaho. The Kibbe Dome has a 140 foot plus ceiling, and is the site of several world record indoor flights. Contact the WMC club for times, places, and dates.
